Hidden Dominion wishes to ensure our readers understand our unique affiliate policy. We [may in the future] support this website through the use of affiliate programs. These programs allow the reviewer to earn a commission on each sale that is purchased because of the fair use of this website. It does not raise the price of the item. If you find an item you enjoy and use our affiliate link, you are also supporting our mission to continue spreading the information within this website. We need this income to pay for server and maintenance costs, as most websites do. We feel this is the fairest way to do so. Affiliates give you the opportunity to receive a beneficial product and also pays for our overhead costs at the same time. Any piece of equipment or item recommended on this site will have been personally used or purchased by the author of the article. The official Hidden Dominion articles will never use affiliate links with any products we do not personally have experience with. This way we can build trust in our recommendations and empower you to feel safe in purchasing the item.
Amazon Disclaimer: We were previously an affiliate for Amazon. Because of their ideological tint, I no longer wish to give them money or send my readers to them. I have quit their affiliate service effective Nov 29, 20. I attempted to remove all applicable Amazon links but that is quite the challenge when you have 500+ articles. If you discover any that are not removed, please contact me to remove them.

We do have third parties on this website. One example is our comment provider (currently WPDiscuz). They filter and use your commenting data as necessary to provide their service. Third party providers use this to provide a needed service on this website such as commenting, spam protection, filtering contact form submissions, and providing cookies for tracking. By using this website you consent to allowing these few third parties to function as needed. Ads, Cookies, and Analytics
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
- We do not use Google analytics or Google ads.
- Currently we do not have any ads on the website at all except internal ads for related Hidden Dominion articles on this same website.
- We do use a service known as Koko as a privacy focused alternative for analytics. This service keeps the data in house (no third party) and does not track extra data like demographics. Koko uses a cookie for when you are on the website so I can see which pages and how many pages were viewed for my analytics information. It does not have a unique identifier or follow you outside of HD. Koko responds to do not track requests. You can find out more about Koko and their privacy focus here: https://www.kokoanalytics.com/. They are far superior to privacy-invader Google and their affiliates.
- We collect this analytics data so we know what posts and topics you are interested in reading more of. We also collect it so we know what types of content are most appealing to our readers.
- We also use some analytics from Mailterlite for our newsletter. This places a cookie so we know not to show you the popup ad repeatedly if you’ve turned down the ad. Mailerlite’s privacy is available online.
- Some other plugins may also use a cookie in a similar manner to Koko. For example, we also use a popular post plugin which tracks which posts are receiving a higher number of views. This does not capture any other information outside of that very limited scope and does not identify you at all.
