I think if there is a god, then there are multiple gods.
And I also think Christianity agrees with me.
“You shall have no other gods before me.”
“Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.”
“Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices. You must demolish them and break their sacred stones to pieces.”
God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
Just to name a few. There’s dozens more passages with similar tones.
Is it possible the Christian god may just be against the worship of these gods, instead of the mere acknowledgement of them?
In fact, I believe someone would have a very strong argumentative case stating that Satan, as referenced in the Bible, is a form of a “god”.
Maybe he’s just not the main god. Or the one deserving of praise.
Isn’t it equally as likely that the old Pagan religions were correct in their worship of deities, instead of a singular modern day deity?
If one is to assume that god is real – it seems to be a logical conclusion that there is more than one. The typical “why does god allow bad things to happen?” seems to be easily justifiable if we assume there are more than one. Some good, some bad. Just like life: some good, some bad.
How it works, I have no idea. Nobody actually does. We believe in things but not a single person on this planet can give you a definitive answer. Just look at the Catholic church vs the Pope – they can’t even agree on simple things.
But let’s get to the main point here:
At the end of the day, there are two main beliefs:
- The entire universe came out of existence from nothing, continually expanded, and eventually created intelligent life that could interpret this emotional writing with their conscious mind
- God(s) came out of existence from nothing and created the above
And regardless of which side you sit on – does both not seem completely insane?
The mere existence of “life” is interesting to me. I can honestly say I think I’m one of the few people completely unafraid to die, for the simple fact I want to know what the answer is.
Just a quick thought, hope it gave you something to think about.
